My Photography Hobby

I needed to take an art elective during my sophomore year of college and I decided to take a photography class. We used old cameras (manual ones to adjust all the settings) and black and white film. We also learned to develop all our own film and make prints in the schools dark room. It was a really cool class and I got hooked on photography then.

When I got out of school I got a new digital camera to use. While I would love to continue taking and developing my own film photos, I do not have the place to build a darkroom and the chemicals to do color photos are very toxic if I made a mistake. I like digital photography because I can put the photos on my computer and edit them to how I like. I can add new effects and make cool photos you just couldn't do with black and white photography. I can even make black and white photos so I can always remember what it was like in school.
